iPhone no longer autocorrects "i" to "I"

iPhone 6, just updated to iOS 10. I like to keep auto-capitalization off as a personal preference on social media, but I like to keep I capitalized in I/I'm etc. I know this is a weird problem, but it's a preference I have and it feels so wrong to have that changed!

I have tried turning on-off auto-capitlization. It fixes the I's, but then every subsequent sentence starts with a capital letter.

I have also tried resetting the dictionary, but no luck either. Also turned on/off autocorrect. Nothing.

There is also this weird problem I have, where if I have autocapitalization off and try to capitalize the beginning of a word, it shows up like this: THanks/HEllo/GOodbye. It's not consistent though, it happens randomly.

What else should I try to do? It looks like I have to wait for another update it seems.

iPhone 6, iOS 10, null
